It is one of Mexico’s busiest airports and a major hub for domestic and international air travel in northern Mexico, connecting Monterrey to key destinations across Mexico, the United States, Latin America, and select international routes.

The airport consists of three passenger terminals: Terminal A, Terminal B, and Terminal C. Terminal A and Terminal B handle full-service and international carriers, while Terminal C is dedicated to low-cost airlines. Facilities include check-in counters, self-service kiosks, immigration and customs areas, baggage claim, airline lounges, retail stores, and duty-free shops in international departure areas. Dining options include fast food outlets, cafés, and full-service restaurants offering Mexican and international cuisine. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the terminals. Additional services include ATMs, currency exchange, car rental counters, VIP lounges, and passenger assistance services.

Airlines operating at MTY include Aeroméxico, Viva, Volaris, American Airlines, United Airlines, and Delta Air Lines, among others. The airport offers extensive domestic connectivity to cities such as Mexico City, Guadalajara, Cancún, and Tijuana, as well as international routes to major U.S. cities including Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth, Atlanta, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Additional international services connect Monterrey with destinations in Central America.

Travelers can access Monterrey city center and surrounding areas via
authorized airport taxis, private transfers, ride-hailing services, and car
rentals. Public transportation options include airport shuttle buses connecting
to key locations within the metropolitan area. Travel time to downtown Monterrey
is approximately 25 to 40 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. Several
hotels in the area provide shuttle services for guests.
