Phnom Penh International Airport

Phnom Penh International Airport (PNH) was the main international gateway to Cambodia’s capital, located approximately 10 km west of Phnom Penh city center. It served both domestic and international flights, connecting Cambodia to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, China, and beyond.

However, as part of Cambodia’s aviation modernization plan, PNH ceased commercial operations on 8 September 2025, with all scheduled passenger flights relocating to the new Techo International Airport (KTI) from 9 September 2025 onward. Techo International Airport, located further south in Kandal Province, is designed to handle significantly higher passenger volumes and serves as Cambodia’s primary aviation hub moving forward.

Facilities

The airport has a single passenger terminal handling arrivals and departures, with modern amenities to enhance traveler comfort. Facilities include check-in counters, self-service kiosks, immigration and customs services, baggage claim, lounges, retail outlets, and duty-free shops. Food and beverage options range from cafés and quick-service restaurants to sit-down dining, catering to both local and international tastes. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the terminal, along with ATMs, currency exchange counters, and travel assistance desks.

Airlines

Airlines operating at PNH include Cambodia Angkor Air, Cambodia Airways, Vietnam Airlines, Thai Airways, Singapore Airlines, AirAsia, and Qatar Airways, offering a mix of full-service and low-cost carriers. Destinations cover regional hubs like Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City, as well as long-haul connections to the Middle East.

Transportation

For public transport, travelers can reach the city center via taxis, tuk-tuks, and ride-hailing apps like Grab. Airport shuttle services are limited, but private transfers and hotel shuttles are commonly arranged. Buses connect Phnom Penh International Airport to nearby towns, though schedules are less frequent.
