King Khalid International Airport

King Khalid International Airport (RUH) is the main international gateway to the capital of Saudi Arabia, located approximately 35 km north of Riyadh city center. As one of the busiest airports in the Kingdom, it serves both domestic and international flights, connecting Riyadh to major destinations across the Middle East, Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America.

Facilities

The airport features multiple passenger terminals, including Terminals 1 to 4 (primarily international operations), Terminal 5 (domestic flights), and the Royal Terminal. The terminals offer modern facilities such as check-in counters, self-service kiosks, biometric e-gates, immigration and customs services, baggage claim areas, premium lounges, retail outlets, and extensive duty-free shopping.

Food and beverage options range from international fast-food chains to regional and global dining brands. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the airport, along with ATMs, currency exchange services, banking facilities, medical clinics, prayer rooms, children’s play areas, and VIP services.

Airlines

RUH serves as a major hub for Saudia and flynas. In addition, numerous international carriers operate at the airport, including Emirates, Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines, Lufthansa, British Airways, Air France, EgyptAir, and IndiGo. Destinations include regional hubs such as Dubai, Doha, Cairo, and Istanbul, as well as long-haul routes to London, Paris, Frankfurt, New York, and various cities across Asia.

Transportation

Travelers can reach Riyadh city center via taxis available outside the terminals. Ride-hailing services such as Uber and Careem operate widely at the airport. The Riyadh Metro (with future connectivity plans) and public bus services improve ground transportation options. Car rental agencies and private chauffeur services are also available within the terminals.
