Tivat Airport (TIV) is an international airport serving the coastal town of Tivat and the Adriatic region of Montenegro. It is located approximately 4 km from Tivat town center and provides access to destinations along the Bay of Kotor and surrounding coastal areas. Tivat Airport operates as one of Montenegro’s two primary air gateways, alongside Podgorica Airport. The airport handles international passenger traffic, with increased flight frequencies during the summer season.

Facilities

Tivat Airport operates a single passenger terminal handling both arrivals and departures. The terminal includes check-in counters, security screening, passport control, and baggage claim areas. Passenger facilities include duty-free retail, cafés and snack bars, airline service counters, and seating areas. Free Wi-Fi is available within the terminal. Additional services include ATMs, currency exchange, and car rental desks. The terminal operates with limited capacity during peak summer periods.

Airlines operating at TIV include Air Montenegro, Air Serbia, Turkish Airlines, Austrian Airlines, easyJet, Ryanair, and Wizz Air. These carriers operate scheduled and seasonal services connecting Tivat with regional hubs such as Belgrade, Istanbul, and Vienna, as well as selected European cities, with expanded seasonal routes during the summer.

Transportation

Travelers can reach Tivat town center and nearby coastal destinations such as Kotor and Budva via taxis, private transfers, and rental cars available at the airport. Licensed taxis operate directly outside the terminal. Travel time to Tivat town center is approximately 5 to 10 minutes. Car rental services are available on-site, providing access to coastal and inland destinations. Public bus services operate along the main road near the airport but do not stop directly at the terminal.

Tivat Airport supports Montenegro’s coastal tourism sector by providing direct seasonal air connectivity between the Adriatic region and key European markets.
